Waters Edge Winery – Denver, CO

PrintWalking in spontaneously to Waters Edge Winery is like showing up at your girlfriend’s door, with the exception that you’re guaranteed to get a glass of wine! The Hulan’s passion for wine, family and friends is abundant in this winery located just North of SouthGlenn Mall. Pull up a seat and taste through the current offerings. Current offerings because this is a working winery, so they are always creating new sips for you to enjoy! You can even adopt a barrel and throw a party to bottle your wine with Jenninfer Hulan giving direction just like the South Metro Chapter’s did last week! Their offerings range from sparkling wines like their nod to Bogi and Bacall, fruit wines like their Komodo made with dragon fruit and Shiraz to Continue reading “Waters Edge Winery – Denver, CO”

Train, Rest, Repeat

bre2phitTrain, Rest, Repeat. This is the core philosophy of our business partner PHIT Gym. Train, Rest, Repeat. This is a core belief of Trainer Bre Billinger who leads by example and recently placed in all her classes at The Clash Of The Titans Show.  Congratulations Bre!

I am so impressed with Bre’s dedication to her personal growth and that of her clients, which I’m experiencing first hand as I recently hired Bre to be my personal trainer after having my left hip replaced. Finding the right trainer was of Continue reading “Train, Rest, Repeat”

A Love Affair with Limoncello

limoncello2016

Just like most children in the United States, lemonade and lemonade stands were a huge part of my childhood and my children’s childhood during the hot, long summer months! There was nothing more quenching than a cool glass of lemonade  poured over a tall glass full of ice cubes.  That is, until I came of age where I was allowed to taste the family “lemonade.” It wasn’t served in a huge glass over ice… It wasn’t sweet and lip smacking…But, it did have a fabulous kick that left me feeling warm and tingly! And, the more I sipped, the more tingly I got!

Limoncello, limoncello…..Italy’s second most beloved drink! A drink that has been passed FB_IMG_1462933049135down over time and has been rumored to have started in Sorrento or perhaps, Capri or if you’re family has origins in Italy, you’ve probably been told that your family created it! Most Italians have a recipe that’s been passed down the generations and they’ll swear theirs is the best, as I will attest that my recipe carried over from Bari, Italy is the best I have ever had….Hey, I’m Italian, so Continue reading “A Love Affair with Limoncello”

Bridal Showers & Parties

ShowerPhotoI’m preparing this week to share in a very special moment for a soon to be bride as I lead a wine tasting Italian style! The shower is the starting point leading up to the nuptials actually taking place in Florence within the month! I’m so honored to have been invited to share my passion for wine with these gals and give them a little insight into the world of Girls Gone Grape’s sassy women, sassy wines and sassy adventures! And, how awesome for all of us that Italian wines happen to be my favorites! My Italian heritage doesn’t bias me at all! Okay, who am I kidding…..yes it does, so I’m excited for this bridal shower!

Italian weddings are something to write home about regardless of where they’re held! New and old traditions, family + friends,  drink and let us not forget…food! Because in Italy or in an Italian family, it’s all about the gathering of loved ones over food and wine!

We’ll be toasting “Per Cent’anni” – for a hundred years, to the bride while sipping on Prossecco, Italy’s version of Champagne and then moving onto a few of the bride’s favorite styles of Italian wine. We’ll sip, we’ll laugh and I’ll share a few Italian traditions, just in case the bride needs to throw a few more things into her suitcase; a green sash (to be worn the evening before to bring good luck to the marriage), extra tie for the groom(Italian tradition is to cut the grooms tie and hand it out to the men for good luck after the nuptials) and her La Borsa (a gorgeous satin bag worn by the bride for gifts of money to be given while dancing with the bride)! I still have my beautiful, handmade Borsa to hand down to my daughter on her wedding day! There are so many more to share, but I just don’t have time as I’ve got to finish sampling my sips for this shower!

If you’re interested in having us create a themed tasting for your shower or party or hosting a tasting for you, contact us at info@girlsgonegrape.com.  We offer a range of services to fit your needs.

Here’s to sipping with the gals!

Tickets: $35 (limited seating 40)
Advanced Ticket Purchase Necessary for Private Home Address.
otha fest logo finalWhat could J. S. Bach and Chuck Berry possibly have in common? (It certainly isn’t teenage love and souped-up guitar licks.) How are The Beatles connected to Ludwig van Beethoven? (Could it be the long hair?) CU Boulder Interim Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Oboe, Dr. James Brody explores these and other questions in an entertaining excursion littered with diverse musical examples.

We bring things full circle and pair this humorous evening with great food and a sassy wine tasting hosted by Robin Salls, Founder of Girls Gone Grape. Robin is the consummate hostess with a deep passion for wine, comparing old and new world wines in the perfect summer sampling — Prosecco, Tempranillo & Viognier. From France to Colorado, with a fabulous local wine maker in Evergreen, CO: and not to be forgotten, a Spain Tempranillo juxtaposed with a home grown Californian.

Seating is limited so buy your tickets HERE, way in advance for this one.

Hot Pots! Pottery & Mosaic Studio

hotpotsGirls Gone Grape is excited to introduce you to our fabulous Business Partner Member, Hot Pots – A Paint Your Own Pottery & Mosaic Studio located in Historic Downtown Littleton, Colorado on Main Street. Get your creative flow going by grabbing a date, your kids or stop in solo and create your own masterpiece!  They have over 250 different shapes of bisque ware to choose from. There are mugs, plates, frames, figures…something for everyone! They also change their stock constantly so you never run out interesting items to choose from. Worried that you’re not an artist? The design center is full of idea books, stamps, stencils and everything else you need to help you create your one-of-a-kind masterpiece. They also carry over 70 colors of paint including “speckle” paints.

martiniglassesAfter hosting a delightful event last year with the GGG Historic Littleton/DTC Chapter where we created cheese trays, my husband and I decided to take a day trip for our 17th anniversary to create martini glasses! Not too shabby, if I do say so myself! The shop is adorable with tables scattered about and makes for a perfect date scene. I’m not talking from the movie “Ghost”, you know….the scene with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore that made women swoon for that type of romance,  but there is something about couples who paint together!

Relax in their comfortable studio and let the creative juices flow. The amazing staff will give you as much (or as little) attention as you need to complete your project. Plan on giving yourself about a week for your project to be glazed and fired and readied for pickup. It is so worth the wait for the finished product! Plus, it gives you a fun excuse to spend more time in  the quaint community of Historic Downtown Littleton with all it’s shops and restaurants!

Follow Hot Pots Studio on facebook or visit their website today and book your next date night or party!

The Depot Art Gallery

logo - no addressGirls Gone Grape is excited to announce our newest Business Partner Member, The Depot Art Gallery in Littleton, Colorado! If you’ve never heard of it or been before, then this is a must stop visit for the art, history buff or train lovers in your life.

DepotArtGallerybyLynne2010-300x200In 1962, ten local artist founded the Littleton Fine Arts Guild to display art in their community. Fifteen years later the group took on the task of restoring the historic Littleton Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Depot in a joint effort between the community, the City of Littleton and the Littleton Museum. The caboose on the property was acquired in 1979.

While no longer in it’s original location, it is located along the train/light rail route and when you’re visiting and a train goes by the little depot, you’re transported back in time as the building rumbles beneath you. Close your eyes and you might just catch your breath as you’re transported back in time and imagine, say Wild Buffalo Bill stepping off the train, looking around and pondering his next adventure in the west. As you peruse the artwork, you’ll be sure to notice the original woodwork through out the station. It’s a delightful location to host an event or meeting! Speaking of events, the Girls Gone Grape Historic Littleton/DTC Chapter is hosting a private art show, wine and cheese tasting on Friday, January 29th. Check out their event and join them for this private event. Can’t attend this event, but want to stay up with this chapter, then take a moment to like the FaceBook page or visit our website!

caboose-300x169The Depot now hosts The Depot Art Gallery, managed by the Littleton Fine Arts Guild displaying members’ artwork.
